Ms. Verna Boyd (Summer Academy)
Ms. Verna Byrd, aka (Ms. Veronica) is a graduate of Southern University and is currently completing her MS Doctorate to become an Adjunct Professor. Her years of experience with children extend from being a 3rd Grade teacher in the Cy-Fair Independent School District to currently running the Summer Academy Program at FMID. Ms. Veronica is a native of New Orleans and loves the New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers.
Ms. Annie (Afternoon FMIDC Director)
Ms. Annie was a former educator in the Houston Independent School District for the last 42 years and her versatile skills enabled her to teach Pre-K to 6th grade. When she graduated from high school, Ms. Annie originally wanted to join the army but her father rejected the idea. Instead she pursued a college degree with a music scholarship and this paved the way for her to become a teacher. Ms. Annie’s main goal in life is to inspire others to go above and beyond the unexpected and never take anything or anyone for granted. She never chooses to take failure personally but looks upon it as a milestone.
Mrs. Komale Larkins
Ms. Kamale has worked in the Food Service field, as a Food Service Manager for the last fifteen years. Her years of experience have been centered in the child care field and she works well with others through her positive team spirit and caring nature. She enjoys cooking and spending time with her family.
Dr. Quinita Ogletree
Quinita Olgetree affectionately known as “Dr. Q” is Assistant Director at FMIDC. She is the bearer of many degrees: Bachelor of Arts from Virginia Union in 1996; Master of Divinity from Virginia Union in 2000; Master of Education from University of Houston in 2007; and Doctor of Philosophy from Texas A & M University in 2012. Her professional experience as adjunct professor at Sam Houston State and Texas A & M University prepared her for working here at FMIDC for numerous years.
